SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

People are at the heart of our success. Our Learning and Development programmes focus on enhancing skills, strengthening leadership capabilities, and empowering our employees to grow within a rapidly evolving landscape. With a commitment to continuous upskilling and professional development, we create a culture where individuals can thrive while supporting the broader transformation goals of our organisation. DTSA assists our own employees as well as external aspiring students with finance via bursaries and education assistance to finance tertiary education and actively participates in the YES Programme, which provides unemployed youth with 12 months of quality work experience, creating a pipeline of skilled black talent for the automotive sector. To further mitigate unemployment we offer a Disability Leadership Programme.

ENTERPRISE & SUPPLIER DEVELOPMENT

We recognise the critical role small and black-owned businesses play in driving economic progress. Through our Enterprise and Supplier Development initiatives, we invest in emerging enterprises by providing targeted support, capacity building, and access to procurement opportunities. By nurturing strong, sustainable partnerships across our supply chain, we contribute to a more inclusive and resilient economic ecosystem.

SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

DTSA is committed to investing into uplifting communities and charities in need. We align our Socio-Economic Development initiatives to the global Daimler Truck Care programme with four strategic focus areas: Health and Traffic Safety, Education, Enviroment, Disaster Relief. We also maintain an active internal program that encourages employees to volunteer in community service, fostering a culture of social responsibility from the ground up.

LOCAL MANUFACTURING & ECONOMIC IMPACT

DTSA continues to invest in its East London production plant, where it locally assembles Mercedes-Benz and FUSO trucks. This sustains local jobs and contributes significantly to the Eastern Cape’s economy. By achieving Level 1 status, DTSA has successfully localized value chains, by integrating more black-owned suppliers into its value chain, directly meeting its objective of driving B-BBEE compliance.
