Zero Noise. Zero Emission

It has been over 2 years since we began the journey to get our battery electric vehicle to its highest peak performance. Fast forward to 2024, and we are proud to say that we are ready to begin with customer trials to ensure that our vehicles are eReady for our South African Soil. Here is some of the key product highlights that our customers have to look forward to during this time.

Disclaimer: The FUSO eCanter is currently not available of sale in South Africa and is currently undergoing trialling.

Safety

Approaching Vehicle Alarm System (AVAS)

EVs are very quiet, and pedestrians may not notice an approaching vehicle. The Approaching Vehicle Alarm System is a device that emits a sound under certain conditions to notify pedestrians that eCanter is approaching.

Note: AVS activates when travelling at 20 km/h and below (cancellation is not possible).

Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS)

Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS)

A high-precision millimeter-wave radar mounted on the front bumper detects moving or stationary vehicles ahead, as well as pedestrians. *1 If the radar senses that the vehicle is in danger of a collision, the system alerts the driver. Then, it automatically applies the brakes according to the distance from the vehicle ahead and the driving conditions at that time. *2 In this way, AEBS helps the driver avoid a collision or mitigate damage from a collision. When AEBS is active, the system notifies the driver through the Ivis® (multi-information system) display in the meter cluster and flashes a warning lamp.

*1 The system detects moving pedestrians only. *2 There are certain conditions necessary for activation. Ivis® is a registered trademark of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation.

How AEBS works: AEBS detects vehicles and pedestrians ahead *3 and helps  drivers avoid or mitigate damage from a collision by issuing an alert and activating the braking system.

Electronic Stability Program (ESP®)

ESP continually detects the vehicle’s status and position using sensors. If there is a danger of skidding or overturning, the system controls the motor and applies braking to all four wheels to reduce danger. An ESP® cut switch is also installed to allow the user to cancel this function. Additionally, an “ESP® off” warning lamp is provided to clearly inform the driver of cancellation or a failure in the system.

Note: ESP® is a registered trademark of Daimler AG.

Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS)

Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS)

When the vehicle deviates from its lane on an expressway, etc., without operating the turn signal, the white line recognition camera*1 detects the deviation and alerts the driver. A buzzer is activated and the Ivis (multi-information system) in the meter cluster panel encourages the driver to drive safely. There is also a warning lamp to indicate that the LDWS is not functioning due to the LDWS cut switch or a failure.
*1 It also recognizes yellow lines AG.

Interior

Easy-to-read meters and indicators

eCanter meters are regular analog displays that drivers are accustomed to. eCanter is also equipped with a speedometer and a power meter to indicate energy consumption, with indicators placed in the center for easy viewing.

A large display monitor

A large display monitor

A large screen in the center of the instrument panel displays most of the information necessary for driving and operation.

Main display items on the center display:
• Vehicle information (remaining battery power, remaining driving distance, driving and power consumption history, inspection schedule)
• Navigation
• Radio
•Bluetooth® information

Startup

To start the EV system, insert the starter key into the slot and press the Start/Stop button. eCanter also has a keyless entry function that allows the doors to be locked and unlocked when at a distance from the vehicle.

Regenerative Braking

Regenerative Braking

The strong regenerative brake enhances regenerative braking. Use it as an auxiliary braking means on downhill stretches or during high-speed driving.

When the strong regenerative brake switch is turned on, more braking force is generated than normal.

Pushing the left combination switch forward activates the strong regenerative brake system.
